PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MATERI PERSEGI DAN PERSEGI PANJANG

Abstract


Abstrak. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa pada pelajaran matematika tentang luas bangun datar persegi dan persegi panjang di SDN Kalimulya 04 Depok. Nilai pemahaman siswa pada materi luas bangun datar persegi dan persegi panjang, masih di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal KKM (70). Tujuan PTK untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran problem based learning bermuatan karakter. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa-siswi kelas IV (empat) dengan jumlah 30 siswa tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Berdasarkan hasil PTK menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran mengalami peningkatan. Hasil pemahaman berupa ketuntasan belajar dari masing-masing siklus dimana (KKM) adalah 70, yaitu: (1). Pra-penelitian rata-rata kelas 61,33 dan persentase tuntas 53,33% dimana terdapat 16 siswa (tuntas) dari 30 siswa, (2). Siklus I rata-rata kelas 67,33 dan persentase tuntas 70,00% dimana terdapat 21 siswa (tuntas) dari 30 siswa, (3). Siklus II rata-rata kelas 77,33 dan persentase tuntas 86,67% di mana 26 siswa (tuntas) dari 30 siswa. Siklus II berhenti karena indikator pembelajar sudah tercapai sebagai bukti nilai rata-rata kelas 77,33 sudah di atas KKM yaitu 70. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan problem based learning bermuatan karakter pada mata pelajaran matematika materi luas bangun datar persegi dan persegi panjang dapat dikatakan berhasil.

Abstract. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) is motivated by the low understanding of students in mathematics lessons about the area of square and rectangular shapes at SDN Kalimulya 04 Depok. The value of students' understanding of the area of square and rectangular shapes is still below the KKM Minimum Completeness Criteria (70). The purpose of PTK is to increase students' understanding by using a problem-based learning strategy with character content. The research subjects were students in class IV (four) with a total of 30 students for the 2021/2022 academic year. Based on the results of CAR, it shows that students' understanding of learning material has increased. The results of understanding in the form of learning completeness from each cycle where (KKM) is 70, namely: (1). Pre-research the class average was 61.33 and the percentage of completion was 53.33% where there were 16 students (completed) out of 30 students, (2). Cycle I average class 67.33 and the percentage of complete 70.00% where there are 21 students (complete) of 30 students, (3). Cycle II grade average 77.33 and the percentage of complete 86.67% where 26 students (passed) of 30 students. Cycle II stopped because the learner indicator had been achieved as proof of the class average value of 77.33 which was above the KKM, which was 70. The conclusion of this study is that the application of problem-based learning with character content in mathematics subjects on the area of square and rectangular shapes can be said to be successful.
